Grammar in focus · le conditionnel présent

Form the conditional with the future stem + imparfait endings (-ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient): « je voudrais », « j'aimerais », « pourriez-vous ». It softens requests and expresses wishes — far more polite than « je veux ».

Write a short polite message (4–5 sentences) to a restaurant to reserve a table, using je voudrais, pourriez-vous and j'aimerais.

Tip for this task
Bien ! The conditional makes you sound courteous: « Je voudrais réserver… Pourriez-vous me confirmer ? ». Avoid « je veux », which sounds blunt.
