Grammar in focus · le subjonctif (introduction)

After « il faut que » and « il est important que », use the subjunctive: « il faut que tu fasses », « que tu ailles », « que tu sois ». For regular verbs, take the ils-form stem + endings (-e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent): « que vous évitiez ». Don't worry about mastering it fully yet — just recognise the trigger « que ».
