Grammar in focus · la voix passive

The passive is formed with « être » + past participle, which agrees with the subject: « les mesures sont adoptées », « les objectifs seront atteints ». The agent, if stated, follows « par »: « les émissions sont produites par l'industrie ». Combine with « il faudrait que » + subjunctive for policy recommendations.
