Grammar in focus · structurer une synthèse argumentée

A B2 argument follows a clear arc: introduction (« la question est de savoir si… »), arguments staged with « tout d'abord », « par ailleurs », a concession (« certes… il n'en reste pas moins que… »), and a conclusion (« en définitive »). Combine the subjunctive (« bien que le débat reste ouvert ») with « il convient de » + infinitive.

Write a structured argumentative paragraph (7–8 sentences) on a topic of your choice: introduce the question, give two arguments (« tout d'abord », « par ailleurs »), concede one point, then conclude with « en définitive ».
