A good B2 review balances praise and criticism. Stack evaluative adjectives precisely: überzeugend, gelungen, anspruchsvoll versus vorhersehbar, oberflächlich, holprig. Soften or hedge judgements with adverbs: « Der Film ist durchaus sehenswert, wenn auch nicht makellos. » Use zwar … aber to concede a flaw inside praise, and verbs of perception like überzeugen, beeindrucken, enttäuschen to express the effect on you.
Write a 4–5 sentence mini-review of a film or book you know. Give one genuine strength and one genuine weakness, using zwar … aber.
