To compare, use più (more) or meno (less) + adjective + di (than): Roma è più grande di Pisa. Il mio quartiere è meno caro del centro. Di contracts with the article: più tranquillo del centro (di + il). For equality use (tanto)… quanto / (così)… come: è grande quanto Milano. A few irregulars: buono → migliore (better), cattivo → peggiore (worse).
