« Da quando + past/present » marks the starting point of a change: « Da quando ho smesso di fumare, sto meglio » (since I quit smoking, I feel better). « Sempre più / sempre meno + adjective or noun » expresses a growing/shrinking trend: « sempre più stanco », « sempre meno tempo ». Note « smettere di + infinitive »: « ho smesso di fumare ».
