Grammar in focus · comparatives

To compare, add -szy / -iejszy to the adjective and use 'niż' (than): 'duży → większy' (bigger), 'mały → mniejszy' (smaller), 'ładny → ładniejszy' (nicer). « Ten park jest większy niż tamten. » Some are irregular: 'dobry → lepszy' (better), 'zły → gorszy' (worse).
