Grammar in focus · weather expressions & seasons

Weather often uses 'jest' + adverb: 'jest słonecznie' (it's sunny), 'jest zimno' (it's cold), 'jest ciepło' (it's warm). For rain/snow use a verb: 'pada deszcz' (it's raining), 'pada śnieg' (it's snowing). Seasons in the instrumental mean 'in (season)': 'lato → latem' (in summer), 'zima → zimą' (in winter), 'wiosna → wiosną', 'jesień → jesienią'.
