Grammar in focus · the conditional (tryb przypuszczający)

The conditional is built on the past-tense stem plus the particle « by » and a personal ending: chciał + by + m → chciałbym (I would like, m.); chciała + by + m → chciałabym (f.). Endings: -bym (ja), -byś (ty), -by (on/ona/ono), -byśmy (my), -byście (wy), -by (oni/one). The gender of the participle still shows: mężczyzna chciałby, kobieta chciałaby. Use it for polite wishes and requests: « Chciałbym kawę », « Czy mógłby Pan pomóc? » The « by » can detach and attach to a conjunction: « Wolałbym, żebyś przyszedł jutro. »

Write a short polite message (4–5 sentences) asking a hotel to change your booking. Use at least two conditional forms.
