Grammar in focus · intentions, hopes and dreams

State intentions with « zamierzam » + infinitive (I intend to): « Zamierzam studiować medycynę. » Express hope with « Mam nadzieję, że… » + clause: « Mam nadzieję, że zdam egzamin. » Note Polish uses the present/future tense after « że » here, not a conditional. For dreams and hypotheticals, reuse the gdyby-conditional from Module 3: « Gdybym mógł / mogła, zamieszkałbym / zamieszkałabym nad morzem. » Soften wishes with « chciałbym / chciałabym ». Talk about the future with « w przyszłości » and future verbs: « W przyszłości będę pracować jako lekarz. » This lesson reactivates conditional, że clauses, and aspect together.

Dobrze! Combine concrete intentions (zamierzam + infinitive) with a hope (mam nadzieję, że…) and a hypothetical dream (gdybym mógł/mogła…). Example: « Zamierzam skończyć studia i mam nadzieję, że znajdę dobrą pracę. Gdybym mogła, otworzyłabym kawiarnię. »
