Grammar in focus · structuring a personal piece

A strong B1 personal text moves through three stages. 1) Narration: set the scene with the imperfective (« czułem się zagubiony ») and drive events with the perfective (« poznałem, nauczyłem się »), sequencing with « na początku, z czasem, pewnego dnia, w końcu ». 2) Opinion: evaluate with « Moim zdaniem… ponieważ… » and connectors like « dzięki temu » (as a result). 3) Future: close with a hope or plan — « Mam nadzieję, że… », « Zamierzam… », or a gdyby dream. Signpost the conclusion with « Podsumowując… » and add reflection with « Z perspektywy czasu… ». This capstone weaves together aspect, że/który clauses, opinion language and the conditional from all eight modules.

Dobrze! Move through narration → opinion → plan. Use aspect for the story, moim zdaniem… ponieważ… for the opinion, and mam nadzieję, że… to close. Example: « Kilka lat temu zacząłem grać w siatkówkę. Na początku przegrywałem, ale z czasem się poprawiłem. Moim zdaniem sport jest wartościowy, ponieważ uczy dyscypliny. Podsumowując, mam nadzieję, że kiedyś zagram w lidze. »
