Perfective passive = zostać + imiesłów bierny (a single completed event): « Ustawa została podpisana. » (The law was signed.) « Cele zostaną przyjęte. » (The targets will be adopted.) Imperfective passive = być + imiesłów bierny, for ongoing/repeated action: « Emisje są monitorowane. » (Emissions are monitored.) « Filtry były instalowane. » (Filters were being installed.) The participle agrees in gender/number: podpisany/podpisana/podpisane, przyjęci (masc. pl. personal). The agent takes przez + accusative: « docenione przez mieszkańców ».
