Form the conditional by adding -ía, -ías, -ía, -íamos, -íais, -ían to the full infinitive: « hablaría, comerías, viviríamos. » The same irregular stems as the future apply: « tener → tendría, poder → podría, hacer → haría, querer → querría. » Use it to soften requests (« ¿Podría ayudarme? » is gentler than « ¿Puede…? »), to express wishes (« Me gustaría viajar más ») and to give opinions politely (« Yo diría que sí »).
Write a short, polite message (4–5 sentences) to a hotel or a teacher making two requests, using the conditional (me gustaría, ¿podría…?).
