Real / likely conditions use the present + future: « Si estudias, aprobarás » (if you study, you'll pass). Hypothetical / unlikely conditions use the imperfect subjunctive + conditional: « Si tuviera dinero, viajaría por el mundo » (if I had money — but I don't — I'd travel). Common imperfect-subjunctive forms: « tuviera, fuera, pudiera, hiciera, supiera. » For advice, « Yo que tú… » and « En tu lugar… » are followed by the conditional — « Yo que tú no diría nada. »
