Grammar in focus · present perfect for experience

To summarise career experience up to now, use the pretérito perfecto: haber (he, has, ha, hemos, habéis, han) + past participle — « He trabajado en tres empresas », « Hemos lanzado varios productos. » It links the past to the present, ideal for « ¿Alguna vez has dirigido un equipo? » Watch the irregular participles: « hacer → hecho, escribir → escrito, ver → visto, decir → dicho. » In much of Spain this tense is also used for recent past: « Esta mañana he tenido una reunión. »

Write it yourself

Write a short paragraph (4–5 sentences) introducing yourself for a job, mentioning your experience and one strength, using the present perfect.

Tip for this task
« ¡Bien! » Your self-introduction is concise and professional. Double-check the irregular participles. Example: « He estudiado Económicas y he hecho varias prácticas en banca. »
