🔊Nowadays, soft skills are as valuable as a degree.
🔊True, but a degree is still well regarded in many sectors.
🔊The key thing is to be willing to keep learning throughout life.
🔊Yes, self-directed learning is essential so as not to fall behind.
🔊Whoever doesn't keep up to date becomes outdated within months.
🔊That's why it's important to be able to reinvent oneself professionally.
Grammar in focus · « ser » vs « estar » (advanced nuance)

Beyond the basics, B2 « ser/estar » carries meaning shifts. « Ser » expresses inherent quality or definition: « El título es valioso » (degrees are valuable, by nature). « Estar » expresses a state, result or perspective: « El título está bien valorado » (it is regarded as valuable — a result of opinion). Compare « ser listo » (to be clever) vs « estar listo » (to be ready); « ser aburrido » (boring) vs « estar aburrido » (bored). With ability, « estar capacitado para » = to be qualified/able to.

Write it yourself

Argue whether degrees or skills matter more (4–5 sentences), using « ser » and « estar » with deliberate nuance at least once each.

Tip for this task
« ¡Bien! » Contrast meaning: « Es competente » (inherently competent) vs « Está preparado » (ready/prepared, a state). Avoid the common error of using « ser » for temporary states like readiness.
