Accessibility Statement
Education should reach everyone. Here's our commitment to making Vidaara usable by people of all abilities, and how to tell us where we fall short.
Our commitment
We are committed to making Vidaara accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML and ARIA where appropriate so screen readers can navigate the site.
- Maintain text and background colour contrast that meets WCAG AA (at least 4.5:1 for normal text).
- Make every interactive element keyboard-accessible, with visible focus states.
- Provide captions and subtitles on video lessons, plus full transcripts.
- Offer a high-contrast mode and a reduce-motion option in accessibility settings.
- Use responsive layouts that work from small phones to large desktops, with readable text sizes.
- Write descriptive alt text for meaningful images.
Known limitations
We're honest about where we're still improving. Some older lessons may not yet have full transcripts, and a few interactive exercises are still being made fully keyboard- and screen-reader-friendly. We're actively working through these, and we prioritise fixes that affect the most learners.
Tell us about a problem
If you hit an accessibility barrier anywhere on Vidaara, please tell us — it genuinely helps. Email contact@vidaara.org or use our contact form, describing the page and the issue. We aim to acknowledge reports within 5 business days and will work with you on a solution or alternative way to access the content.
Compatibility
Vidaara is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and common assistive technologies such as screen readers. If you use older technology and have trouble, contact us and we'll help.
