Calculate the pH of a buffer containing 0.2 mol/L $CH_3COOH$ and 0.1 mol/L $CH_3COONa$. ($pK_a = 4.74$)

Using Henderson–Hasselbalch equation:

$$pH = pK_a + \log\frac{[Salt]}{[Acid]} = 4.74 + \log\frac{0.1}{0.2} = 4.74 + \log(0.5)$$

$$= 4.74 - 0.301 = 4.44$$
