How do I write a good essay? What structure should I follow?
I always lose marks in essay writing because my essays lack structure. My teacher says I need an introduction, body, and conclusion but I do not know what to put in each section.

Standard 5-paragraph essay structure: Introduction (1 paragraph): Hook (interesting fact/quote/question), background context, and thesis statement (your main argument in 1-2 sentences). Body paragraphs (3 paragraphs): Each starts with a topic sentence (main point of that paragraph). Support with 2-3 evidence points or examples. End with a transition sentence. Conclusion (1 paragraph): Restate thesis in different words, summarize main points, end with a broader implication or call to action. Common mistakes: Starting with "In today's world..." (cliched), No clear thesis, Each paragraph with only one point, Copying introduction into conclusion. For board exams: plan for 5 minutes, write for 20 minutes. Aim for 200-250 words for a 5-mark essay.
