If $(1-y)^m(1+y)^n=1+a_1y+a_2y^2+\cdots$ with $a_1=a_2=10$, then $(m,n)$ is

(a) $(20,45)$
(b) $(35,20)$
(c) $(45,35)$

Correct answer: (d) $(35,45)$

$a_1=n-m=10$ and $a_2=\frac{(m-n)^2-(m+n)}2=10\Rightarrow m+n=80$, giving $m=35,n=45$.
