(a) Formation of CO (reducing agent):

$$2C + O_2 \rightarrow 2CO$$

(b) Reduction of haematite:

$$Fe_2O_3 + 3CO \rightarrow 2Fe + 3CO_2$$

(c) Slag formation (flux = limestone → CaO):

$$CaCO_3 \rightarrow CaO + CO_2$$

$$CaO + SiO_2 \rightarrow CaSiO_3 (slag)$$

$$Slag: CaO + SiO_2 \rightarrow CaSiO_3$$

Nicely solved. For the exam, write the final boxed answer clearly to avoid losing marks.
