The integrating factor of differential equation
$\frac{{dy}}{{dx}} + y\tan x - \sec x = 0$ is
- (a) $\cos x$
- (b) $\sec x$ ✓ Correct
- (c) ${e^{\cos x}}$
- (d) ${e^{\sec x}}$
The integrating factor of differential equation
$\frac{{dy}}{{dx}} + y\tan x - \sec x = 0$ is
Given that, $\frac{{dy}}{{dx}} + y\tan x - \sec x = 0$
Here, $P = \tan x,Q = \sec x$
$IF = {e^{\int P dx}} = {e^{\int {\tan } xdx}}$
$= {e^{(\log \sec x)}}$
$= \sec x$
