: Let $I = \int {\cfrac{{{{\sin }^2}x}}{{1 + \cos x}}} dx = \int {\cfrac{{1 - {{\cos }^2}x}}{{1 + \cos x}}} dx$
$= \int {\left( {1 - \cos x} \right)dx} = x - \sin x + C$
