Question
The domain of the function ${\cos ^{ - 1}}(2x - 1)$ is
- (a) [0,1] ✓ Correct
- (b) [-1,1]
- (c) (-1,1)
- (d) $[0,\pi ]$
The domain of the function ${\cos ^{ - 1}}(2x - 1)$ is
We have, $f(x) = {\cos ^{ - 1}}(2x - 1)$
$therefore, - 1 \le 2x - 1 \le 1$
$\Rightarrow$ $0 \le 2x \le 2$
$\Rightarrow$ $0 \le x \le 1$
$therefore, x \in [0,1]$
