Question
If $P(A) = \cfrac{3}{5}$ and $P(B) = \cfrac{1}{5},$ find $P(A \cap B)$ if $A$ and $B$ are independent events.
If $P(A) = \cfrac{3}{5}$ and $P(B) = \cfrac{1}{5},$ find $P(A \cap B)$ if $A$ and $B$ are independent events.
As $A$ and $B$ are independent events,
$P(A \cap B) = P(A)P(B) = \cfrac{3}{5} \times \cfrac{1}{5} = \cfrac{3}{{25}}$
