Fractions, start to finish
Understand what fractions really mean, then add, subtract, compare and convert them with confidence. Built for mastery, not memorisation.
About this course
Fractions trip up more students than almost any topic in primary math — usually because they were taught as rules to memorise instead of ideas to understand. This course fixes that. We start with what a fraction is using number lines and real objects, then build up to operations only once the concept is solid.
What you'll learn
- Read, write and picture fractions on a number line
- Compare and order fractions, including unlike denominators
- Add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers
- Convert between fractions, decimals and percentages
Prerequisites
Comfort with multiplication and division up to 12×12. If you're shaky there, try Arithmetic — Grade 3 first.
