Day, Night and Days of the Week

The Sun is up in the day and we see the Moon and stars at night. We eat breakfast in the morning, lunch in the afternoon and dinner at night.

There are 7 days in a week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Tuesday.

Months and Seasons

There are 12 months in a year, from January to December. Some months we know well: January is first and December is last.

Reading Time (O'clock)

A clock has two hands. The short hand shows the hour and the long hand shows the minutes. When the long hand points to 12, we say 'o'clock'. If the short hand points to 3 and the long hand to 12, the time is 3 o'clock.

Example 1: The short hand is on 8 and the long hand on 12. What is the time?
8 o'clock.
Example 2: Which hand is longer — the hour hand or the minute hand?
The minute hand is longer.
