Percentage Basics & Conversions
Percent means per hundred. Convert between percent, fraction and decimal fluently: 50% = 1/2 = 0.5, 33.33% = 1/3, 12.5% = 1/8, 16.66% = 1/6, 6.25% = 1/16. Memorising these fraction equivalents turns 'find 37.5% of 240' into '3/8 of 240 = 90' instantly. To find what percent A is of B, compute A/B x 100.
