Detail & Fact Questions

Detail questions ask for a fact explicitly stated ('According to the passage, …'). Scan back to the relevant line and match it. Beware options that are true in real life but not stated, and options that distort the wording.

The answer is in black and white

Detail questions (often "According to the passage…") have an answer written in the text. Scan back, find the line, and pick the option that accurately paraphrases it.

Two traps to reject: (1) an option that is true in real life but not stated in the passage; (2) an option that distorts the wording slightly (adds "all/only/always"). The correct option restates the line faithfully — no more, no less.
